Description
ARGENTINA ? Made up of three horizontal stripes, sky blue at the top and bottom and white at the center, the Argentine flag has existed since 1816. When formally adopted in 1818, an addition was made to the center of its white stripe; an emblem representing the sun with 32 alternating straight and wavy rays. Among the conflicting theories regarding the flag?s meaning, are beliefs that the blue represents the Rio de la Plata, while the white represents Argentina?s abundant silver resources.
