EL SALVADOR ? Made up of three equal size horizontal bars ? royal blue, white, and royal blue ? and adopted in 1972, the flag of El Salvador boasts an emblem at the center of its middle white stripe. The emblem is the nation?s coat of arms which consists of a triangle representing equality and the three branches of El Salvador’s government. The triangle contains symbols of liberty, ideals of the people, and peace – which are represented by a red cap, golden rays and the rainbow.
