Description
GUATEMALA-The Guatemalan flag is a tribar made up of three equally sized vertical stripes ? a center white stripe indicative of the country and its purity of values, and sky blue stripes on the left and right, symbolizing the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Centered in the white stripe is Guatemala’s coat of arms, consisting of two rifles and two swords bound by laurel branches, and a golden scroll which reads “Libertad 15 de Septiembre de 1821.” Perched above is a Quetzal bird which is the symbol of Independence and autonomy of the Nation.
