Description
ITALY ? In use since 1946 and formally adopted in 1948, the flag of Italy is a tricolor banner made up of three equally sized stripes; green, white, and red. A common interpretation of the colors is that the green represents Italy?s plains and hills, while the white reflects the snow capped Alps, and the red symbolizes the blood spilt in the struggle for independence. However, a more religions interpretation is the representation of the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity.
