Description
KENYA-The flag, which is made up of three equal size horizontal stripes of black (top), red (middle) and green (bottom) was adopted in 1963. Each stripe is separated by a slender white stripe. The emblem at the flag?s center is that of a Masai warrior’s shield and spears. The black stripe represents the African people, the red stands for the struggle for independence, and the green symbolizes Kenya’s agriculture and natural resources. The thin white stripes represent peace and unity – while the emblem represents Kenya’s fight for freedom willingness to defend itself.
