Description
SINGAPORE – This flag, adopted in 1959, is a banner horizontally split into two equal halves; red ? for brotherhood and equality – at the top, and white – standing for purity and virtue – at the bottom. Cast toward the left, in the red upper half, is a white crescent moon symbolizing a young nation on the rise, with five white five point stars to its right, representing the country’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
